Samson made the first of many outings to commune with nature this weekend, which also happened to include
Earth Day. We drove for 3 1/2 hours to
Garner State Park near
Concan, Texas. The drive was not tear-free, but Samson did remain in the carseat for the entire trip and even took a couple of short naps between bouts of cheerful play and mournful cries. The weather was expected to be hot and cloudy; we did get the clouds, but the temperature dropped to chilly, so there was no swimming in the Frio River this time. Instead, we stayed near the cabin and spent quality time with the
Walton-side aunts and uncles. Samson got to spend lots of time being passed among loving admirers.

With Aunt Kelly

With Uncle Ernie, who can't wait to take me hunting and fishing

With Uncle Marcus, who will teach me to sail and speak Japanese

With Daddy and Cousin Seth
