Snow day!

There's a big freeze in Austin today, with temps down into the high 20s. Roads are icy and everyone is staying home if they can help it. Luckily, Samson doesn't have any appointments today, so we've remained cozy in the Hobbit Hole. Image our surprise to wake up to this sight:

Snowflakes falling in Central Texas is rare and it produces great excitement in folks of all ages. (During our last snowfall in 2004, Daddy and Mama put on their skiwear and ran outside to make a sad excuse for a snowman; he looked more like a dirty snowcone.)

We considered bundling Samson up and taking him outside for his first snowflakes, but before we could come to our senses, the snow morphed to sleet and the plan was foiled.
